Overnight stays
A member of staff will stay overnight with any animal that is too sick to go home or that needs continuous attention. There is a charge for this. We will discuss with you any concerns you or we have about sending an animal home.
Emergencies
In an emergency during our opening times, we prefer if you call us immediately. We will assess your call as efficiently and quickly as possible advising you to come immediately to the surgery or perhaps reassuring you with advice. It is always best to give us a ring to tell us you’re on your way but we know this isn’t always possible.
When we are closed, ring our normal telephone number 01303 764190 and a recorded message will inform you of our hours of opening. The message will also give you the telephone number to ring.
We use VETS NOW services for all our out of hours enquiries, consultations and operations. They are based at Cinque Ports Veterinary Hospital, Ashford Road, Kingsnorth, Ashford. The VETS NOW out of hours telephone number is 01223 879913. Please note their fees are independent of Hawkinge Veterinary Surgery and they reflect the nature of providing out of hours care. VETS NOW charges can be requested at the time of contact.

Home Visits
It is our policy to offer home visits if at all possible, particularly when the time has come for a pet to be put to sleep. Please phone us to arrange a suitable time for any type of visit.
